2. Sukto or a Bitter Curry

This Bengali vegetarian cuisine is centred on this bitter mixed vegetable curry. Vegetables such as brinjals, raw bananas, potatoes, drumsticks, and bitter gourds are used to prepare this dish. Among the spices, dry red chilly and ghee-fried Radhuni are used as seasonings for the dish. Milk is often added along with daal baris or lentil dumplings to add more flavour to the curry.   

3. Sona Moong Dal 

This lentil dish is a staple in most Bengali Aiburobhat. It has two versions – one is vegetarian and the other is nonvegetarian. The former is made with vegetables such as carrots, peas, and cauliflowers and the dal used is the moong dal. This goes in the perfect combination with steamed rice.
